There are a couple more open spots. If you're interested in learning how to keep your DSLR camera out of auto mode, call, text, or email! I promise you'll learn something AND have a great time! :)
I absolutely loved watching moms and their kids interact for the Motherhood Mini Sessions. I love how the bond with each child is different yet all the kids are loved the same. And that was true for all the families I saw. Thank you so much for letting me capture some of those moments for you. Your children will be grateful for these shots one day.
As part of the special, one mom will win a Grace necklace with a photo of her choosing from the session.
In order to draw the winner, I went to...who else...but my mom. :) And she (unknowingly) picked....
Congrats Jennifer! Let me know which proof number you'd like and I'll get the necklace on its way.
Don't forget.... I'm always happy to work on collages if you're interested. As far as the design of the collage, I typically try to follow the mood of the photos. Here's an example of one from the Motherhood Minis.
Thanks again, to all the moms (and dads) that shared some time with me.
But that's when these little ladies will be graduating high school, 18 years from now. Since they're only 13 days apart (one was actually due 2 days after the other), we decided to get some shots together. Here's one for the slideshow! :)
Can you guess who came first?
Miss A's Mom found these adorable little onesies once when we were both at the Walmarts. It's my fault we didn't get them taken sooner, but they're still pretty adorable...hatched and all. Thank goodness they still fit!
And to continue with the interesting tidbits....they'll be together in line since their last names start Wh and Wi. Get used to be next to each other, girls! :)
My apologies....It's hard not to go hillbilly when I think about what my dad (or maybe it was HeeHaw) used to say about the three Rs....Readin', wRitin', and aRithmetic! You can see the teacher in me can't even spell them with just Rs. :)
If you'd like to learn about more than the three Rs, here's a camera class you might be interested in.
If you're tired of getting bad pictures with poor lighting or having to wait for your flash and miss the shot, then you need to look into the Manual Schmanual class. If you've purchased, or are looking into purchasing, a DSLR camera, you shouldn't be shooting in automatic mode all the time. There are wonderful pictures of your children, grandchildren, pets, wildlife, and nature out there waiting to be taken by you! You'll find out how to do that in this class.
I've been wanting to do something like this for a while, and with several people asking I figured it was time to get it done. This class is not intended for professional or semi-professional photographers.
Topics of the Manual Schmanual class will include, but are not limited to...
ISO
aperture
shutter speed
RAW/Jpeg
natural light
white balance
your shooting environment
uploading
editing
peer collaboration
1-on-1 time to go over your specific questions
Did I mention LUNCH and a rockin' swag bag? You'll receive some awesome items from area crafters that will assist in your creative shooting. :) It has been so much fun putting those together!
We'll meet at the studio from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. There will be time for you to practice shooting inside and out (weather permitting).
Your deposit is the cost of the class, so $75 reserves your spot. I'm not taking too many people though, so I can focus on each and every person's questions. That means...don't wait around too long to sign up!
If you're interested or have questions, please call, email, or text.....785-548-5735 or wischdesigns@rainbowtel.net . And, mark your calender for June 2nd!
You'd think I could find a nerf bullet when I need one, but I couldn't. So....to choose the winner, I just randomly stuck two sticky flags on my computer screen before logging in to Pinterest.
Then I logged in and went to the WischDesigns Pinterest Board. Whichever shots were under the stars on the sticky flags won!
Congrats to Joyce & Nikki D.! (Please send your mailing address to wischdesigns@rainbowtel.net). I'd love to see how you use your extra cash, so pin it & share! :)
Thank you to everyone that played along. I know the directions were a little confusing, so hopefully we can get more to join in as people become more comfortable pinning.
In the meantime, keep hash-tagging your favorite #WischDesigns pictures. Spread the word! :)
My apologies to Miss J and her family. My new little one hasn't been the most cooperative in letting me work at the computer lately. Sorry the previews are a bit behind!
My guess is Miss J is still going strong! :)
And to her craft provider.....we need to talk! I have a list started for you. ;) For reals!
There are a couple more previews on the WischDesigns Facebok page....feel free to tag. Thanks for your patience!
It's the newest thing. Pinterest. It's a great way to get and share new ideas.
Pinterest is a social network that allows users to collect favorite photos, videos, and links and post them to visual “pinboards.” These boards form collages of your favorite areas of interest, whether it’s arts and crafts, fashion, food, teaching ideas, photographs, or other odds & ends from around the web. My favorites include the in-ground trampoline, resurrection eggs, and of course - all things photography!
Pinterest is currently invitation-only, so if you don’t have an account, you can email me at wischdesigns@rainbowtel.net & I’ll send you an invitation.
And why not share some of the best photos on the web? Like the one below....not that I'm partial or anything. ;) Starting today, Friday, April 13th, pin your favorite WischDesigns photo and you could win!
2. Pin your favorite WischDesign's shot. Be sure to include #WischDesigns & our website (www.wischdesigns.com) in the description or we can't count it as a contest entry. Feel free to include any reasons why you like it, although it's not necessary to be entered in the contest. Example: “The catchlight is awesome in this shot.”
I will repin your entries to the WischDesign's Pinterest board where all the entries will be placed. (Note: If you don't include #WischDesigns in the description, I will not be able to see it. So if you're not sure, feel free to email me a link (subject: “Pinterest contest”) to the board you pinned it on. wischdesigns@rainbowtel.net
Prize: Next Wednesday, two random pinners who have pinned at least one WischDesign's shot will win ten bucks. That's it. Ten smack-a-roos. No strings attached. Except that you have some spending money to go try out some of the cool things that are posted on Pinterest! The winners will be drawn randomly from all posted photos.
Fine Print: Pinners (that's you) may post everyday but please limit to one entry per day. If my math is right and my brain is working, that's a total of five entries for each person. Please only pin WischDesign photos and include #WischDesigns and the website address...www.wischdesigns.com.
Contest ends at noon on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 and winning pinners will be drawn within 24 hours afterwards.
Here's a quick tutorial on how to add the "pin it" button to your bookmarks...
To install the “Pin It” button in Firefox:
Display your Bookmarks Bar by clicking View > Toolbars > Bookmarks Toolbar
Drag the “Pin It” button to your Bookmarks Toolbar
When you are browsing the web, push the “Pin It” button to pin an image
Once installed in your browser, the “Pin It” button lets you grab an image from any website and add it to one of your pinboards. When you pin from a website, we automatically grab the source link so we can credit the original creator.
So, follow, pin, hashtag (#WischDesigns), and win!
I *love* watching the little ones change and grow throughout the first year. This one's personality is really starting to come through. And it looks like Mom & Dad are going to have lots more fun in the future! :)
Please, please take pictures of your kids. Whether it's your own point and shoot or with a professional, they grow up way too fast! They won't stay little forever but at least you'll have the images to help remember when they were.
Ok...getting off my soap box now. And back to Miss Cutie Patootie...
Thanks for letting me celebrate late with your adorable one. More previews on the WischDesign's Facebook page and you're welcome to tag. Happy Birthday Miss M!
I know April 1st is probably not the best day to announce a price increase, but it's true. A few things are changing price....most notably the sitting fees. For up for five people, it will now cost $60 and six or more people will now cost $85. But, if you're a returning client (excluding mini sessions), then you get $10 off the sitting fee as usual.
The rest of the changes can be found on the price list at this link. Feel free to print a copy for you and your buddies.
And because I hate posting without a photo, here's a shot of my silly bunnies.
